In this episode, I speak with great friend and former client, Jill Rieder. Jill has lost over 100 pounds and has totally turned her life around. She used to suffer from many side effects of hyperinsulinemia and chronic inflammation. She has since completely removed those ailments by incorporating a well-formulated Keto diet. She has also improved her mental and emotional relationship with food. Jill has now turned her focus toward building muscle with Keto and making this lifestyle truly sustainable. In this episode, I speak with Michael Kayser and how his son Owen has dealt with epileptic seizures. Without warning, Owen started having seizures at three years old and the family had to adapt. They dove into the research behind the ketogenic diet and how it could be implemented to help Owen. After adopting a Keto lifestyle, Owen's seizures dropped from 100 per day to zero! Michael dives into the parenting strategies they've used while raising a son with epilepsy. He also illustrates what a day of eating a therapeutic Keto, 4:1 ratio looks like. Shawn went into detail about how the government has played a bad hand in our nation's food supply. We talk about the importance of surrounding yourself with positivity and growth. In this episode, I speak with avid bowhunter Zac Griffith! Zac and I immediately hit it off on our shared appreciation for hunting and the outdoors. He dove into his views on conservation and how to appreciate the circle of life. He talked about how he is working to be a positive role model for the next generation of hunters. We talked about his nutrition and how he transitioned from the SAD diet to Keto to the OMAD approach he follows now. We talked about the art and technique behind bow hunting and all that it involves. Christian competed in his first show last year using a carbohydrate-based approach so we dove into how that compares to a Ketogenic prep.
